How many years does Boise St. have to go undefeated before they will win a National Championship?

I don't agree they have to switch conferences or even that they have to play a tougher schedule. Each time an non-AQ team goes undefeated, it moves people who actually have a say in who plays for the title closer to being sick of not seeing non-AQ teams that win all their games having the opportunity to play for the title. If it's left up to Boise State relying on winning the Fiesta Bowl and then getting VOTES for the title, that's never going to happen. But if it becomes a matter of getting a high enough preseason ranking, then winning all their games, then finishing #1 or #2 such that they automatically play for the title--and win THAT game--that could happen as early as next season now.
